How to install the browser app

Just follow these steps:

  1. Make your bookmarks toolbar or favorites bar visible in your web browser. Here's how to do it in Chrome, Internet Explorer, and Safari.
  2. Click and drag this link

    up to your bookmarks toolbar.

    (Or, right-click on the link and select add to favorites, bookmark this link, or other similar language.)
    For iPad and tablet users:

    First, select all the text in this box and then tap "Copy":

    Then, bookmark this page. Then go into your bookmarks and edit the bookmark you just made for this page. Change the bookmark name to "Rewordify text". Delete the URL for the bookmark and paste the code you copied from the above box. You're done!
  3. When you're done, you'll see something like this on your favorites bar:

  4. You're done! Now, when you're on any web page, just click the "Rewordify text" app button to see a rewordified version of the text of the page.
  5. Bonus: If you're logged in, the page is saved in your history for you to read later, or share with the world.

To display the original web page

The below link is for a different browser app that displays the original web page in place, with the language simplified. You can install both browser apps side by side.

To read the text from a web page in Rewordify.com:

  1. Go to the home page.
  2. Enter (or copy-paste) a URL into the yellow box.
  3. Click this button to extract the text from the web page and display it in Rewordify.com:

  1. Go to the home page.
  2. Enter (or copy-paste) a URL into the yellow box.
  3. Click this button to see the web page:

    Note: The web site will open in a new window. You must allow popups from Rewordify.com in your browser for this feature to work.
  4. On the web page, you'll see this control box:

  5. Optional: Click the words Rewordify page text. Rewordify.com will extract the words from the article and display them in Rewordify.com.

How to get a link to a rewordified page

Would you like to put a direct link to "rewordified" web page on your blog or teacher web page, to save your students time? Here's how:

  1. Go to our home page.
  2. In the yellow box, enter (or copy-paste) the URL of the web site you want to see and click:

  3. When the page appears, you'll see a web box near the top of the page:

  5. You'll be taken to a page of links. Follow the instructions on that page.
  6. Click the Back button in your browser to return to the web page.
